Aurora

Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1995 in Stavanger and professionally referred to as Aurora often stylized in uppercase as AURORA is a Norwegian music producer and singer. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released through the record label Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval by music journalists and media. Half the World Away - by Oasis - for John Lewis' Christmas ad and Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole have already been two covers worth noting that she has recorded. Katy Perry's praise for her track Runaway in a blog post brought the singer additional acknowledgement. Make it a special day for her. Aurora Aksnes' first musical memory involves finding a small piano hidden in the basement, and bewildered by the sound it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. They encouraged her not to play music only for pleasure or as a means of growth but rather, she should explore it. The Aksnes family inspired her to write. Her influences include renowned writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her love of Bjork's style. She began performing the songs she wrote publicly after her mother suggested that they could help people not be famous with her work but to make people see around them realize their own importance and how they could impact the world. Piano was her first instrument when she was six. She began creating music after turning nine. This was not known by her family until she turned fourteen. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. Her only passion is to write music. She believes music can make anyone feel better.
